Terms of use

Last updated: 18 October 2026. These terms apply to the Cookobel app and to our service for AI capture and for looking up nutrition. The provider is Marco Desiderio (see the legal notice).

1. What Cookobel offers

2. Purchases

You buy the full version and packs of AI digitisations through Google Play. The seller, payment, invoicing, cancellation and refunds are governed by the Google Play terms. The full version belongs to the household it was bought for; it cannot be taken to another household. If a purchase is refunded, the full version or the credit added with it is withdrawn.

3. Credit and vouchers

4. Availability

AI capture needs an internet connection, our service and that of our AI provider. We do our best to keep it available at all times but cannot guarantee this – for example during maintenance or outages at the provider. Your credit is kept in such cases. Should we ever discontinue the service altogether, we will announce this in the app at least three months in advance; we will then refund purchased credit that has not yet been used on request.

5. AI results and nutrition

The AI reads and organises recipes as well as it can, but mistakes are still possible. Check quantities, times and temperatures, especially where allergies and intolerances are concerned; Cookobel highlights uncertain points in yellow. Nutritional values are estimates for guidance – not medical advice and not a basis for insulin dosing.

6. Your content

Only capture and share what you are allowed to use – such as recipes from your cookbooks and from websites for your own use. Please share other people's recipes and photos only within your private circle, with family and friends, not publicly. Do not send unlawful content to our service. Your recipes remain yours; we only process them in order to capture them (see the privacy policy).

7. Misuse

If someone modifies the app or deliberately misuses our service, for example to obtain credit or the full version, we may block their access to the service.

8. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act. In cases of slight negligence we are only liable if we breach an essential obligation on which you are entitled to rely, and then only for foreseeable, typical damage. Your recipes are only on your devices, so back them up regularly (menu ⋮ → “Back up & sync”).

9. Final provisions

For full versions and credit already purchased, what was promised at the time of purchase continues to apply, even if these terms change. German law applies; mandatory consumer protection rules of the country in which you live remain unaffected.
